![]() A little doohickey I made an attempt at, it's barely begun and I really have no idea as to where I'm going with it. *sign* Tell you what, if you get any ideas after reading what I have so far, e-mail me at Sphynx_Chan@msn.com and give me your input. If I like your ideas, I might just incorporate them into the fic. Then I might even get this done. Imagine that! Wow, I never thought such a thing could be possible. Your emails will make it happen! I'm counting on you!

~~~Gundam Wing: Meet the Death Angels~~~
Part I: Jeri Tyler a.k.a. the Sphynx
"Aww, c'mon. Do I have to?"
Jeri Tyler slouched into her chair at the small desk she sat at, her chestnut brown hair falling over the back of the chair, stopping about a foot and a half above the carpeted floor. The fifteen year old girl was having a really bad day, but then again, every day for the past two years had been bad, somehow.
"Jeri, this is an order, it's your mission, you have to take it or else a lot of people are going to die."
Professor L said. The older woman sighed in frustration, she was getting tired of this irritating girl throwing a fit about every mission. She cleared her throat and shot Jeri a piercing look with her blue-grey eyes. Jeri rolled her eyes and yawned, leaning back in her chair with her feet on the desk.
"Oh please, don't even try that pathetic, `I'm gonna kill you if you don't accept this mission' look. It's never worked on me, and it's not going to now. If it's that big of a deal I'll just take the blasted mission, okay? Will that make you feel better?"
Jeri looked at Professor L with pleading emerald green eyes. Professor cleared her throat once again, then tried to look serious, but failed when a crooked grin escaped and appeared on her face.
"Good, you are assigned to the L2 colony outer limits, I've arranged a rendezvous for you with the leader of the Sweepers Group, you are to help them get rid of the squadron of OZ Aires mobile suits."
She instructed. Jeri laughed out loud, but she had leaned too far and the young girl fell to the ground with a loud THUMP! Her laughing ceased when she jumped up and rubbed her head, a big bruise forming on her forehead.
"Oww…that wasn't funny. Um…sure Professor, whatever you say! A ha ha, I'll get right on it. I'm outie."
Jeri smiled a half smile, one hand still rubbing her bruise and the other attempting to make a peace sign. Professor L groaned, she had a feeling that Jeri hadn't heard a word she just said.
"Did you hear ANYTHING I just said?" Professor L asked Jeri blinked.
"I'm sorry, did you say something? I wasn't paying attention." The brunette asked innocently. The older woman got a really pissed off look on her face, she yelled out, "JUST GO BEFORE I KILL YOU!!!"
And with that the laptop screen shut off. Jeri blinked once again, then sighed and got up out of her chair.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. Stupid old bat, never gives me any time to relax. Geez, nothing ever satisfies her." She mumbled. The screen popped back to life, a VERY PISSED OFF looking Professor L came on the screen.
"I HEARD THAT, NOW GET TO WORK!!!" she screamed, causing the young girl to jump and high tail it outta there.
At the hangar, Jeri zipped up her black and green spacesuit to the chin, she then reached back to quickly braid her long chestnut hair and tie it back with a leather hair tie. She then jumped up towards her Gundam, Cruiser, and blasted off into deep space.
"Where the Hell was I supposed to go?" The Brunette wondered. "*sigh* Mabye I should listen to Professor L more often……Nah." She decided "She's WAY too strict, especially to me." She sighed again.
"I'd be crazy to call her back and ask for directions, but what am I supposed to do? All I remember is to meet someone at the L2 colony. Whatever!" she shrugged and flew towards the L2 colony, which was about…uh…a long ways away.
At the L2 colony outer limits…
"What?! Another Gundam Pilot, how many of them are there?"
She thought as a guy called out to her, "Hey! Are you Sphynx?? Professor L wanted you to help us out, come down here! He yelled. Jeri Tyler jumped down from her Gundam and started questioning this new guy she just met. "Who are you anyway?" She asked "I am Howard Creator of this Gundam." He replied to her Jeri just stared at the Gundam, "I didn't know there where any more. "She said, still staring in awe at it.
"Didn't Professor L Tell you? You are to help in combat with the pilot of this exact Gundam!" Howard told her as she snapped out of it, "What?, She neglected to mention that part." Jeri replied looking VERY annoyed.
"Then again, she never mentions any of the bad stuff. Always lets me fall on my face and embarrass the hell out of everyone around me. Oh well, I'll get her for this." Jeri said, smiling evilly and rubbing her hands together.
Howard looked blinked, confused at what and why she was doing this. "Uhh,. . .What does that mean?" He asked. Jeri fell down at the question
"Aghh, Never mind that, show me to this so-called Gundam pilot." She replied, standing up and trying to keep her cool. Howard escorted her to a boy in the workout room.
"Hello." The boy said
"Hello." Jeri answered.
"So,….Where's this Gundam pilot?" Jeri asked as the boy sweat-dropped."
"Uhh,…..I'm the pilot." The boy announces to Jeri. "My name is Duo Maxwell Ok, uh,….THIS is the experienced pilot that was sent to help us on our mission???" Duo asked skeptically.
"Yes, what is the problem?" Howard asked the two.
"She's a GIRL!!!, GIRLS CANNOT PILOT GUNDAMS!!!!" Duo responded.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?! Jeri yelled at him.
"You heard me GIR….. Duo started to say.
"Do NOT finish that sentence, I bet a girl can kick your butt any day, no contest!" Jeri said to Duo's face.
"Alrighty then girl." Duo replied, Jeri punched him, and hard.
"Oww,….What the HELL WAS THAT FOR!?! Duo yelled at her.
"I tried to warn you." is what she replied.
"HOW DID YOU TRY TO WARN ME??? He said, still yelling.
"I did say do not finish that sentence, but you did, so I lost my temper. I do that often , so you'll have to put up with it scince we're working together from now on."
She winked at him trying to get the message through his mind.
"Oh, NO, Howard, I am NOT working with this girl. noway, no how, nope,never." He told Howard.
There will be NO Problems OK? And if there is,you two will have to live with it,alright?!. Howard told them. Duo mumbled something under his breath and Jeri Tyler said."I have to work with a Kono Yaro, Goddamnit , how much worse can this get?"
Well, we'd better get going, or I think I'm gonna go crazy!" Jeri said.
You mean crazier than you already are?" Duo added.
eri flushed red with embarrassment, but just ignored the annoying `pilot' named Duo. Duo looked at her and realized that she had long hair tied in a braid as well.Hers was even almost the exact same length as his was; hell, they almost looked like twins, except for his eyes were cobalt blue and hers were emerald green. He shrugged, deciding to dismiss the useless issue, but not having anything to think about made him realize just how hard Jeri had punched him.
Oww, oww…geez, what did you use, brass knuckles?" Duo said. Jeri raised and eyebrow, then rolled her eyes.
Oh, please. I thought you said that girls can't pilot gundams…if they can't pilot, then they shouldn't be very strong, much less be able to punch a `gundam pilot', especially not an experienced one. If it hurts that much, I'll go get you some ice, so stop your bellyaching." Jeri said sarcastically, hoping to be annoying towards Duo.
Duo just breathed heavily, his hand clutching his stomach, not even looking at her. That got Jeri's attention. `I must've punched him damn hard for him to be in that much pain. I hope he knows that I'm sorry.' The brunette thought with a concerned look on her face. She then proceeded out of the room and down one of the many corridors.
After walking around for a while, Jeri had come to the conclusion that she was hoplessly lost, but that happened a lot. She tried retracing her steps, and after turning a corner to head down the other way she slammed into someone. She fell backwards and tried to apologize to whomever she had ran into, but her voice caught in her throat as she felt something cold and metal press under her chin and lift her face. The brunette blinked a few times and then met the piercing gaze of a pair of what appeared to be Prussian blue eyes. She stared into those twin blue orbs for what seemed like forever, but actually only lasted a few seconds. She shook her head to clear her thoughts and attempted to stand up but was kicked in the chest, landing hard on her back and having the air knocked out of her. She glared at whoever it was that had rudely kicked her and a low and threatening growl came from deep down in her throat.
"Hey! What the hell was that for? I tried to apologize, but it seems you don't accept apologies, do you? Who are you anyway, and what the hell did I do that you thought deserved a kick in the chest, huh? Speak up, or do I have to beat it out of you?" Jeri cried, fixing her eyes on the pair of menacing blue ones.
There was a clicking sound as the gun that was being held against her was cocked and ready to fire. Jeri squeezed her eyes shut, knowing that there was probably nothing she was capable of doing. The person had caught her at a disadvantage. She just about saw her life flash before her eyes; like it usually did whenever she was in some serious trouble. But the gun didn't go off; instead an unfamiliar voice rang out.
"Heero? Are you over there? Oh, there you are, we need to meet Doctor J in the-hey! What are you doing, Heero? Who is that? Hey, are you alright?" A young man about her age ran over to where she was being held at gunpoint. He looked at the boy named Heero disapprovingly, his hands on his hips.
"Why are you doing this, Heero? Do you even KNOW who this girl is?" the first boy asked in an irritated voice.
The boy named Heero spoke up. "No, and that's exactly why I'm doing this. I don't like strangers walking around here, she seemed suspicious to me, so I followed her." He looked at her with those Prussian blue eyes that seemed to see a person's very soul. The others were well aware of the Japanese pilot's undiscovered talent to see through people, they became somewhat worried as to how the new pilot might react. But Jeri didn't seem to notice, and if she did, she definitely didn't care. She just rolled her eyes at Heero's comment, brushing her clothes off and whipping a compact mirror out of her pocket, checking for any bruises.
